Keeping regulation current

The National Energy Retail Law (Queensland) Regulation 2014 (NERLQ) is part of the national energy framework that governs the sale and supply of energy (electricity and natural gas) to Queenslanders.

Queensland Treasury has undertaken a review of the Regulation, due to expire on 1 September 2025, to ensure it continues to serve its intended purpose.

The review found that the Regulation was generally operating effectively. A discussion paper has been published, providing you the opportunity to give feedback on issues raised in the review and Queensland Treasury’s recommendations for improvements to the NERLQ Regulation.
